Mechanical Seal Repair & Reconditioning Services
A worn mechanical seal can often be rebuilt to as-new sealing performance for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Indian Proof Seals Engineering repairs and reconditions component and cartridge mechanical seals of most makes.
Failure analysis with every repair
We assess the failed seal, identify the root cause, and return a rebuilt, tested seal - or recommend a re-engineered design if the original was under-specified for the duty.
What the repair covers
Seals are stripped and inspected, faces are re-lapped on precision plates or replaced, and all elastomers, springs and drive hardware are renewed. Cartridge units are re-set to the correct working length and pressure-tested before dispatch.
Root-cause feedback
Every repair is returned with a short assessment of why the seal failed - dry running, wrong elastomer, excessive vibration, product build-up, misalignment - so the same failure can be designed out.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth repairing a mechanical seal?
For most non-critical duties, yes. Reconditioning typically restores sealing performance at a significant saving over a new seal, provided the seal body and sleeve are not badly corroded.
Do you repair seals from other manufacturers?
Yes, we recondition component and cartridge seals of most makes. If a repair is uneconomic we can manufacture a dimensionally interchangeable replacement.
How quickly can a seal be turned around?
Turnaround depends on the parts required, but critical seals are prioritised. Contact us on WhatsApp with photos of the seal for an initial assessment.
Tell us your operating conditions, we will engineer the seal
Send the fluid, pressure, temperature, speed and shaft size, or a sample of the existing seal. We reply with a recommendation and a quotation.
